Statement...

Mark CollierIn response to the forum post from 'Royale' and the subsequent phone calls Mark received after this was placed. Mark has asked me to post the following statement;

Myself and Ian are going nowhere! We are working extremely hard and looking forward to another challenging and competitive season in the BGB Premier Football League. We find it very distasteful and distracting for ourselves, club officials, players and supporters alike when unfounded comments like this are made.

We would reiterate and confirm categorically we are not leaving SSFC, we are continuing our search to find and develop our squad of players to take the club further forward and be even more competitive in the BGB next season. Comments like this can be unsettling for all and this is possibly why it was placed but this has made us even more determined to continue the excellent progress the club has made over the last three years.

King leaves for Ciren...

Tom King, goalkeeper and last seasons managers player of the year, has signed for neighbours Cirencester Town this week. With Matty Bulman making the move in the opposite direction just over a fortnight ago Tom felt his opportunities would be limited next season. He informed the website that it was a very difficult decision as he has had five great seasons at the club but he felt it was the right time to move on. He has been superb over those five season and we wish him all the best for the future. His character both on and off the field was exemplary and a good clubman, something that is rare in today's football.

It's Bully & Cook for Marine...

It's Bully and Cook for Marine Supermarine have swooped to sign former Swindon Town goalkeeper Matt Bulman from rivals Cirencester Town. Bulman's heroics between the posts were one of the few highlights for Cirencester last season as the club were relegated from the Southern League Premier Division, and Marine manager Mark Collier was delighted to get his man.

End of season awards...

Firstly, apologies to Danny Allen as I was only recently informed that it Danny that actually won the Chairman's Player of the Year and not Kyle Lapham as I was informed the day following the presentation evening. So a belated congratulations Danny. I have also received a couple of pictures from the night, kindly taken by Karen & Tracy.

Search for New Chairman...

Swindon Supermarine are targeting Conference football in the next ten years as they begin their search for a new chairman. Cliff Puffett has stepped down after three years at the Hunts Copse helm to focus on developing the youth side of the club. And on the back of Marine’s best ever season - a twelfth-placed finish in the Premier - vice-chairman Steve Moore (pictured) is hopeful of finding someone who can fill Puffett's shoes and drive the club forward.

Southern League's surprise package close in on top-10 finish...

Marine boss Mark Collier believes a top-half finish would be the icing on the cake for what has been a "remarkable" campaign at Hunts Copse. In what was tipped to be a season of struggle, it's fair to say Marine have defied all the odds in the Southern League Premier Division.

Time's up on Puffett's Hunts Copse reign....

After three years at the helm, Supermarine chairman Cliff Puffett is stepping down after Saturday's final game of the season at Banbury United. The 68-year-old has devoted around 12 years to the Hunts Copse side, including the past three seasons as chairman. But with the club assured of its Southern League Premier Division status next season, and financially secure off the pitch, he believes the time has come for someone

It's Welsh versus Welsh...

As national pride goes, Supermarine striker Jason Welsh is up there among the most patriotic of footballers. And as Merthyr Tydfil come to Wiltshire tomorrow, the 27-year-old is determined to put allegiances to one side as he bids to see off his fellow countrymen.

Don't let it fizzle out'...

Skipper Kyle Lapham has warned his Supermarine teammates they cannot afford to let their season fizzle out, or they could find themselves looking for a new club in the summer. Marine have made giants strides in their first season in the Premier Division, stringing together a nine match unbeaten run in February and March, but one point from the last three outings has left them glancing nervously over their shoulders.

Stanley signs...

Mark Collier's team sheet yesterday included a new name, that of Nick Stanley who was signed on Friday from Cirencester Town and registered in time for the game against Corby. Nick played for Cirencester against us in the 1-1 draw at Hunts Copse earlier in the season and previously to that scored a spectacular goal for Devizes Town against us in the FA Cup a couple of seasons ago. Corby in town next...

A resurgent Corby Town will arrive in Wiltshire tomorrow for their visit to Hunts Copse with a renewed fight for survival. They are currently one of the inform sides in the league after the acquisition of new manager Graham Drury and a host of new players over the past month or so. They will be a very difficult side to get something off as we look to  continue our own good form of being undefeated in seven games.

Will Collier be a diamond geezer?...

Mark Collier has never been one to tinker with his tried and trusted 4-4-2 formation, but the Supermarine boss admits even he will have to think twice before pinning his team sheet to the notice board this weekend. Marine entertain Clevedon Town at Hunts Copse tomorrow and with last month's 6-0 Errea Cup...
