From a Windsor perspective... ROYALISTS OUT OF CUP With an already hectic schedule due to rescheduled games Windsor & Eton sacrificed League Cup success resting most of the squad for the trip to Swindon Supermarine. Just four of the regular first team squad made the trip and, despite a spirited performance from a depleted squad, lost 3-0. Dave Tilbury, Mark Weedon, Chris Cahill and Adam Wallace were joined by members of the reserve and youth teams plus former Royalist Paul Holsgrove.
Windsor tried hard throughout a despite shutting out the home side for over half an hour Windsor keeper Darren Walsh was finally beaten late on in the half. Sean Wood crossed from the right and Gary Horgan slotted past Walsh.
The second half again saw Windsor try hard but failing to make an impact in front of goal. As the game went on it looked as if Windsor would come away with a very creditable 1-0 defeat considering the side that they had put out, but in the closing minutes Swindon made sure of their Semi-Final place. First Chris Taylor reacted quicker to beat Walsh to the ball and lob it over him, then Mark Draycott made sure from a tight angle.
