Match Report Chippenham Town 3 Swindon Supermarine 1 British Gas Business Football League Southern League Premier Division
Tuesday 17.03.2009 By Ned Payne (Swindon Advertiser) David Pratt returned to haunt Swindon Supermarine, scoring two of Chippenham Town’s goals that condemned Mark Collier’s side to a 3-1 Southern League defeat at Hardenhuish Park. The diminutive striker put the Bluebirds ahead on 14 minutes with a flying volley and his close-range strike deflected in off Leigh Henry with 72 minutes played. Ash Edenborough had earlier beaten strong calls for offside before looping a shot over Chris Snoddy just short of half time.
Sean Seavill put the hosts 2-1 ahead with a delightful lob on 69 minutes before Pratt finished the game off three minutes later. Marine rarely looked like taking anything from the game although Alan Griffin went close. And the visitors had every right to feel aggrieved when Ross Adams hauled down Edenborough when on his second booking at 1-1.
Marine chief Mark Collier said: “It’s disappointing we’ve had to make changes due to the injury list. “People have come in and maybe not performed as we would like.
