Manager Mark Collier signed the former Swindon Town defender from Worcester City at the end of February 2010. Swindon born Bampton is 24-years-old and made three senior appearances for Swindon Town before being released in 2004. He then signed for Tamworth of the Conference League in May 2005 where he became a fans favourite over the next four seasons, playing in the FA Cup tie with Stoke City in the 2005/06 season. His performances prompted a selection for the England Non-League side but injury prevented him making his debut. At the start of the 2008/09 season he signed for Worcester City of the Conference South before being released at the start of the season due to a cost cutting exercise at the club. He had been training with the first team squad at Hunts Copse for a number of weeks prior to signing to approve his fitness. His full match was at Truro City at the start of March where he was excellent and put in a man of the match performance.
