Mark Collier has revealed that he will not be signing ex-Cardiff midfielder Sam Wade following his trial period with the club. The Welsh U19 international featured in four matches in pre-season, and Collier admitted: “He hasn’t really done enough for us. “You have to be better than what we’ve got, and we don’t feel he is. “His favoured position is behind the front two, that’s a position we don’t use that often.”
Collier has also released Enoch Boateng (pictured) after the midfielder was unable to guarantee his availability for two weekly training sessions. The Ghanaian-born wide man becomes the second player in a matter of days to be released on those grounds, following the shock departure of new signing Tom Bird. Collier has no plans to seek out a replacement for Boateng, leaving him with a squad of 18 going into the new season. |
