For the same reason as reported yesterday regarding Enoch Boateng, defender Tom Bird has been released by manager Mark Collier due to his inability to attend training twice a week. Basingstoke based Tom's new job would have made it very difficult for him to attend the midweek training sessions therefore he has been released before making a competitive appearance for Marine. He performed very well in a couple of pre-season friendlies and there was every chance he would have made the starting eleven for the opening league game on August 15th against Rugby Town. The management team and club would like to wish Tom all the best where ever he plays his football next season. |
