CLUB STATEMENT

Following two weeks of uncertainty surrounding the club’s future, the Directors of Swindon Supermarine FC are delighted to announce that Richard Mark Carter has joined the club as Director of Football with immediate effect.

However the club are also disappointed to announce that current first team manager Mark Collier has resigned from his role.

The double news comes at the end of a testing period for the club where the focus for all concerned has been on creating a strong but ultimately sustainable football club whilst looking to maintain our Southern League status.

The departure of Mark leaves us with a significant hole to fill as his support and service to the club over the past five years has been unwavering.

The club wish to thank Mark for everything he has done not only for Swindon Supermarine FC but also for non-league football in Wiltshire, during his time with us.

Mark leaves with our very best wishes and with a widely acknowledged reputation for his achievements including; two play off appearances, a tremendous FA Trophy run and of course promotion to the Southern League Premier division in 2008.

The search now begins in earnest for Mark’s successor with Richard Carter leading the process.

Richard joins Swindon Supermarine with extensive contacts through the professional and semi-professional game and will without question be a significant figure in the short term and long term future of the club.

We welcome Richard to Hunts Copse and look forward to welcoming a new manager to North Wiltshire in the not to distant future. Anyone wishing to apply for the vacant role of first team manager must send a CV and covering letter by e-mail only to:

Richard Carter – richardmarkcarter@btinternet.com

All applications must be received by 2nd June otherwise they will not be considered.
