The football club have constructed a 70 metre x 47 metre air dome which has been designed in Germany and manufactured in Slovakia. This is being constructed over the top of an all weather 3G surface. For marketing purposes this project will be known as 'The Swindome' at Supermarine, logo above.

You can see the layout of the Swindome below and you will see it was designed so we can have three pitches running across the 47m width OR we have dividing nets which can be easily drawn back to give one big pitch running lengthways.

I feel it will provide one of the best indoor playing facilities in Southern England. I took the decision early on to invest more finances by way of having a rubber shock pad installed under the actual playing surface. This provides the players with a wonderful comfortable playing experience and more importantly it is proven that a shock pad leads to lest stress on ligaments and joints.

The surface we have put in place is exactly the same as Watford Academy and Standard Liege (Belgium) - it really is state of the art and once completed will be available for hire. It is a new era for Swindon Supermarine FC and a very exciting time for everyone connected to the club - our valued sponsors, volunteers, players and supporters.

Please can I take this opportunity to thank all of wonderful sponsors and volunteers once again for your backing and support, I always say how important this is because it IS important! Everyone at the club hope to see you at a match very soon.

Thank you,

Jez Webb

Chairman - Swindon Supermarine FC

The Future of Swindon Supermarine FC at the Webbswood Stadium

The Swindome incorporating a 3G Training Area

From the the last week in August 2015 the contractor, Cliff Olley, started digging the footings for the concrete ring beam. To stabilise the dome a ring beam is needed with galvanised anchor points concreted in at 3 metre centres. Once the dome was up, thick steel cable ropes go over the top of the dome to hold it down and fasten to these anchor points. The rubber cushion shock pad and top carpet playing surface was installed on October 16th 2015 and took approximately 8 days to install and then the dome was erected on November 15th 2015. During the building of the Swindome we will bring you development news and photo's courtesy of Jeff Youd Photography as we look forward to a grand opening in 2016.
