Match Report
by Ned Payne (Swindon Advertiser)
Marine end their
top-half hoodoo
Swindon Supermarine stunned
in-form Brackley as they romped to a 4-1 success at St
James Park in the Southern Premier.
It was the first time the
South Marston side had won away against a team in the
current top half this season, as they secured their
second league win in a row.
Ben Wells, joint boss Matt
Robinson, Luke Hopper and Mitch Bryant did the damage
but Brackley were left to regret the cheap nature of the
goals they gave away.
Wells opened the scoring
after 12 minutes when he latched onto a through-ball and
easily beat Stuart Dorrill in the home goal. Elliott
Sandy rattled the crossbar with a header before the
hosts equalised on 52 minutes as Steve Basham slammed
home a penalty.
But Brackley were on terms
for less than two minutes as Matt Robinson nodded home
unmarked from a corner. An error from substitute Joe
Magunda allowed Luke Hopper the opportunity to score and
Michael Chennells rattled the woodwork, as it became
evident it was not to be Brackley’s day. Mitch Bryant
completed the scoring when he let fly from 25 yards and
Dorrill let the shot squeeze past him at the near post.

Match
Report from a BRACKLEY perspective....when
and if published that is as for some reason over the
past two seasons when we have beaten Brackley the club
website fails to show a report on the 'Match Reports'
page, other than when they defeated us 1-0 in the FA Cup
in 2009?
